Organic Supplement Vitamin

The popularity of organic has spread to nutritional supplements in the form of organic supplement vitamins.

Organic products are everywhere. In the past, consumers had to go to specialty stores to find organic products, today they are in regular retail stores.

The shelves of nutritional supplement stores are filled with all variety of products; there are synthetic, natural, and now organic vitamin supplements that range from heart health to weight loss to vision care.

Due to support from the scientific research community and other medical professionals organic supplements have received a large boost in the past ten years, with some organic manufacturers have seen an increase in sales up to fifteen percent.

The reasons for consumers choosing organic products, including supplements, stem for their desire to have more control over their health and future health combined with an increase in the media coverage of pollutants in the air and ground affecting end products.

Organic Supplement Facts

With health and the cost of health care being in the forefront of the news and in people’s minds, consumers are more mindful about their health and the impact that diet and nutrition play in staying healthy.

Nutritional supplements have been popular in preventing illness and staying in top shape for many years, now, organic vitamin supplements are rising to the top as consumers realize that the environment is not always contaminate free. Purchasing organics gives an added piece of mind.

Organic supplements are made with only raw materials that have not come in contact with chemicals, fertilizers, or other substances. They are pure in form and don’t add foreign substances to the body like synthetic supplements can.

Organic Supplement Vitamin Certification

imageConsumers don’t need to worry that they are purchasing products that only claim to be organic if they pay attention to labels. In order to carry an organic label, all organic products, including organic vitamin supplements, have to be certified by state agencies or businesses approved by the US Department of Agriculture.

This certification verifies that there has been a physical inspection of the manufacturing processes and the manufacturing area, including a paperwork audit of where raw materials were obtained for production. Products claiming to be organic that don’t carry this certification should be considered suspect.

This certification process is part of the reason that organic vitamin supplements are more expensive than their synthetic or natural counterparts. However, the added expense doesn’t seem to have impacted the consumer desire for organics.

Here to Stay

Organic supplement vitamins and the organic way of life in general are here to stay. Despite a downturn in the economy, the numbers are growing and predicted to keep growing. The prevailing thought process is that maintaining and preventing health is less expensive than the cost of medical care.

Signs point to the fact that the supplement market has not reached its peak. The Natural Marketing Institute reported that in 2007 the US Health and Wellness Industry rose by 15% to a staggering $1 billion dollars with projections of $170 billion by 2012.
