Since the Food and Drug Administration in the U.S. does not regulate herbal supplements, many herbal vendors make claims of miracle cures or rapid weight loss.
Herbs do have their place and can help with many diseases such as arthritis, inflammation, and aid in weight loss, it is crucial to realize that no one product is a cure-all. One of the benefits of consuming herbal supplements are they often carry fewer side effects than synthetic drugs. Many herbs are antioxidants, which help keep the body functioning better overall. Herbal products have their place and should be taken according to the manufacturer directions.
Many people purchase herbal products in bulk, powdered form and use a manual capsule machine in order to create their own herbal supplements and save money in the process. Many doctors recommend certain supplementation such as fish oils, ginger, and turmeric, to name a few. They know the effectiveness these herbs provide and wish to pass this along to their patients. Other physicians do not believe herbs offer many benefits and therefore, do not suggest them to their patients. Herbs have a long history and their safety and efficacy make them a good choice for many people.
